Swamy Sri Prankushacharyajee was the disciple of Swamy Rajendra surijee. There was a great srivaishnava saint and scholar at Vrindavan, who was known as Sri Rangadeshik swamy. The advent of SriRangadesika swamy was in Tamil Nadu in 1809 AD on kartika-krishna saptmi in punarvasu nakshatra. It was sometimes in early thirties of nineteenth century (1830s), that on the direction of a dream he had one night, he came to Vrindavan and became disciple of SriNivasa charya who was the priestly head of Goverdhan peetha established at Vrindavan by Sri Nath Muni from Tamil Nadu in 10th century AD. Later in 15th century AD, when Varvarmuni swamy (also called Mamla Mamuni, Ramya Jamatrai) established eight peetha covering entire India in eight zones, they were headed by his eight celebrated disciples. It was Kandadai Annan who took command of the Goverdhan peetha, at Vrindavan in North India. That is why this peetha is also called Annan peetha.

Impressed by the devotional and scholarly expositions of srivaishnav scriptures, two wealthy brothers, Radha-krishna (Laxmidas)  and Govind Das of Mathura became the follower of Sri Rangadeshik Swamy. Once they learnt hearing the exposition on Thirupavai (composed by Andal) by Sri Rangadesika swamy that Andal had an intense desire to come to Vrindavan, the leeladham (pastime land) of Srikrishna. Her desire was never fulfilled. Moved by the story, they decided to build a grand temple at Vrindavan in the memory of Andal. It was decided to follow the style of Andal temple of Srivilliputtur in Tamil Nadu. The temple work began in 1845 and it was completed in 1851. It is said in that period the cost incurred on the temple was over Rs 45 lacs. The principal deities are Andal, Rangnath swamy, and Garuda (the mount of the Lord). The temple is now known as Sri Rang temple, Vrindavan.
Sri Rajendrasurijee who was a staunch disciple of Sri Rangadesika swamy  was son of Ayodhya Mishra and was born in 1852 AD (phalgun  krishna dwadashi in magha nakshatra) at Mishra_Mitauli, about 40 km from Naimisharnya (also called Chakra-theertha) in Uttar Pradesh. He had performed sincere penance to please Narsimha bhagwan (lion head incarnation of Lord Narayana) at Bhattharaurha, near Mathura on the western coast of the river Yamuna. The place Bhattharauraha is known for offering food to Srikrishna by the ygya brahmins' wives.
He once had a divine direction and moved out in late 1880s from Vrindavan towards Bihar. Reaching Taret, about 20 km away from Patna, on its south western side, Sri Rajendra Surijee found a dense forest and preferred to stay there. Somehow his arrival in that forest got noticed by other nearby inhabitants. Impressed by his saintly personality they requested him to come to their village instead of staying in a lonely forest. For some time, he didn’t oblige them. Swamy Rajendra surijee, under great and consistent persuasion of the local people shifted to the mango orchard on the outskirt of Taret (Figure 1). Subsequently a temple was built where full size black granite idols of Raghvendra Bhagwan with Sita, and Lakshaman were installed. It is said the idols were initially installed in a house-hold family for worship purpose in a nearby village. Somehow that family got impressed by Sri Rajendra Suri jee and they requested him to install the deities in a temple. Accordingly a new temple was built, at Taret in a part of the mango orchard and Sri Raghvendra Bhagwan with his divine consort Sita, and brother Lakshaman were brought there and re-installed. Sri Hnauman jee in his prayer posture was also installed at a high pedestal opposite the sanctum sanctorum at the far end of the large congregation hall.
In course of time, Swamy Rajendra Surijee was invited to another nearby village Mahamatpur where a boy was long suffering from remittent fever. Swamy Rajendra Surijee, visited the ailing boy and called him by his name from the courtyard of the house. Hearing his call, the boy left the bed and came walking to him which was unimaginable because he was confined to bed for a long time and he had become very weak. This was a miracle for the family, and the boy gradually recovered from his protracted illness. Swamy Rajendra Surijee, asked the parents of the boy to give that boy to him in a gift (he had a glimpse of immense spiritual potentiality in the boy) although the parents had lost their hope of survival of the boy.
Earlier the parents were hesitant to allow their child to enter the fold of a mendicant but finally wisdom prevailed and they agreed to surrender the boy in the service of Swamy Rajendra Surijee. Swamy Rajendra Surijee was a great wandering saint. He used to go out on pilgrimage for years together with a large retinue of his followers. He used to perform all his pilgrimage on foot. His famous foot travels were known as Jadish- yatra of Jagannathpuri to serve Lord Jagannath.
He paid frequent visits to south India srivaishnavites temples. In course of time he established a hermitage at Nasik (Maharashtra) where his another staunch devotee Swamy Vasudevacharya was deputed by him for upkeep of the hermitage and maintain the service to visiting srivaishnavas.
The same boy (saved from protracted illness), in course of time became Swamy Prankusha charya. His advent time is said to be 1864 AD, on falgun shukla –tryodashi. He established his hermitage at Sarauti , about 7 km south of Arwal (in the district of Jehanabad) of Bihar. He continued his untiring mission of spreading srivaishnavism for ameliorating the people from the worldly sufferings from this place for about eight decades in his life time. Initially the deities of Ram, Sita  and Lkshaman were installed in the Sarauti temple. Sri Swamy jee used to regularly visit the temples at Tirumala to worship lord Venkatesh, Sri Rangam to pray Lord Rangnath, and Vishnu Kanchi to serve Lord Varadraj, besides the Sri Rang temple at Vrindavan.
The temple of Sarauti was later enriched by the installation of the deity of Lord Venkatesh. A Sanskrit school was established at Saruati to help propagate the Sanskrit education among the masses. He left this planet for the divine vaikunthloka on falgun krishna-navami in 1979 AD. His religious writings are enlisted below (to be free downloaded from www.myswamyjee.in website.

SriNivas Prapatti composed by Swamyjee is regularly recited by the devotees in the evening arati of the principal deities of the temples. This prapatti is very affectionately recited by house-hold devotees also in the morning and evening as a part of their daily offerings to Srimann Narayana. It was the divine will that later Sri Swamy jee got a saintly recluse disciple, called Rupdeva jee who joined the Sanskrit school at Sarauti as a child student. He subsequently blossomed into a saintly scholar after he received higher teachings at Varanasi by reputed vishitadvait scholars.

Sri Rupdeva jee (his childhood name) was given a new name Sri Rang Ramanuja by Sri Swamyjee. In course of time he picked up the mission of Sri Swamyjee and expanded Srivaishnavism to far and wide places.

To facilitate the convenient propagation he established in 1969 a new hermitage at Hulasganj about 30 km north of Gaya by installing the deity of Lakshmi-Naryana. The place has become a vibrant centre of Srivaishnavism. Sri Rang Ramanuja charya commands the high esteem of the devotees. He wrote several books to help people familiarize with the Srivaishnavite philosophy and spiritual practices. With this aim a quarterly periodical "Vaidic Vani" is regularly being published from this place. Among his several writings (i) Geeta Rahsya Chandrika, and (ii) Ramkatha Rasayan (in three parts) have become very popular.

His performing of Gyan Ygya at dozen of places (in the last couple of decades) has received great participation of the masses. In continuation of the ygya performances, the one in the recent past was in the year 2006 organized on the bank of Saryu at Ayodhya.

Another spiritually revealing ygya was celebrated in Vrindavana, on the South-Western bank of the river Yamuna opposite Devaraaha Baba Memorial during the period of Feb. 22, 2008 until March 14, 2008. Thousands of devotees were benefited by the spiritual discourses from the lotus mouth of Srivaishnava saints and sages.

Besides, regular religious camps are organized to facilitate the services to visiting srivaishnavas on the bank of the holy rivers of Gandaki on kartika purnima, confluence of Ganga and Yamuna at Prayag in magha makar kumbha snan. Special camps during ardh-kumbha are organized on the banks of Godavari at Nasik, Ganga at Haridwar, and Kshipra at Ujjain.
With a view to impart Sanskrit education Swami Prankushacharya Sanskrit Mahvidyalaya has been established in 1969 and which has produced hundreds of acharya and shastri students so far.
In March 2011 the marble statue of Swamy Prankushachraya jee has been installed in Sarauti with performing of  Ygya and manay stuctural chnages in the temple premises. The celebration is marked by the auspicious presence of the head of Goverdhan peeth, Sri Rangjee Mandir, Vrindavan., reverentially called Balak Swamy jee.  Latest addition at Sarauti is  50  ft high , 2 ft diameter Garuda stambha and is likely to be completed by end of April2011.
Recently the old temple of Mehandiya is being replaced by a new impressive temple complex. The main deity of this temple is Ram, Sita and Lakshaman who is chala and achala both. Since beginning the mool vigraha have been taken around the nearby villages in procession. The developmental activities of this place is being monitored by the new generation scholar saint, Swami Hare Ram jee whom devotees reverentially  call chote swamyjee. He has composed several submissive devotional songs in praise of Lord Vekatesh and they recited every evening by the devotees before the principal deities of Hulasganj temple.
